Traditional Boer Goats at Baby Goat Farm

At Baby Goat Farm our goal is to produce very productive and healthy stock. We will be taking ADWG on all our 2008 kids, thus helping us determine which goats to cull.

Our does must be very maternal, produce kids with good gains, very healthy with limited worming and foot scald. The does udder must be functional and pass breed standards. These traits are most desirable and will be passed on to their kids.

Our bucks must be heavily muscled, long, wide, with good bone structure. Not all of our goats carry these traits, so we will pair our does with the best buck to meet these requirements.

We cull heavily and offer Quality stock; Show Quality Wethers, brood does, some Show quality does & bucks. We continue to improve our herd with good genetics and healthy goats.

The original full-blooded Boer goats in New Zealand were imported in 1986 and released from quarantine in 1993. Since then there have been further importation’s from Australia and more recently, South African genetics via Australia. Regardless were they were imported from ALL full blood Boer goats originated from South Africa.
